The Harvest

Sie Douglas-Fish

$ 400.00 CAD

24 x 24"

The star in the major arcana represents new wealth, blessings, and power. I was inspired by this motif when considering the experiences and hardships we as LGBTQ2S+ individuals experience, and wanted to bring that feeling of triumph and content into the figures. Using motion and soft, familiar colours, taking inspiration from Renaissance and Baroque palettes to invoke that “rebirth” ideology, paired with a contemporary figuration. Layering and texture were considered down to the little details. The gender ambiguity with a leaning towards feminine evokes mother nature and nurture, as well as resilience.
